Events in Historic Downtown Cartersville
In October 2013, the Cartersville Downtown Development Authority and Main Street Program introduced the Cartersville Bluegrass and Folk Festival. A free event, featuring two stages, and a kids’ area, the festival was designed to help promote the community, local musicians, and the historic downtown district. We have a line-up of 14 performers from local, regional and nationally known groups. Vendors of all varieties and local craft brewery. Join us this year on October 29th from 11:30am – 7:00pm. Find more information at www.cartersvillebluegrass.com or on Facebook.
Here in downtown we are lucky to have a world-class institution like the Booth Western Art Museum. For this event the DDA capitalizes on that good fortune by partnering with members of the Booth Artists’ Guild and the Booth Photographers’ Guild to provide fine art to the public at our annual Art Market. This event brings art alive with exhibits from guild members as well as demonstrations from plein air artists. Held against the vibrant backdrop of historic downtown Cartersville patrons of the Art Market are also treated to live performances from local musicians, including the ever popular Etowah Jazz Society. Couple that with food and drinks served by local downtown restaurants and you have an event that is not to be missed. Watch for our next art market by browsing the events calendar.
The annual Pub Crawl has become a staple in Downtown Cartersville as we have continued to grow our extensive list of restaurants. Two times a year residents and visitors of Cartersville can purchase tickets to the Pub Crawl and spend two days with their friends and family in our nine downtown watering holes. Keep an eye out for the next pub crawl by visiting our events calendar.
The Cartersville Farmers Market is the place to visit when looking for fresh local produce, baked goods, artisan crafts, skincare products and much more! Open every Wednesday (4:00-8:00pm) and Saturday (7:00am-12:00pm) from May to October in the Founder’s Oak Parking lot, downtown Cartersville.
